Edward A. Ludwig, 72. of Hinton. Retired trucker, died Saturday (April 14, 1984) in a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Christy Morningside Funeral Home. Rev. Paul C. Mueller of Redeemer Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, in Battle Creek, with graveside military services conducted by the American Legion.

Mr. Ludwig was born April 23, 1911, in Battle Creek. He lived in Battle Creek until the age of 7 when he moved with his family to Correctionville. He attended Correctionville schools. He was an independent trucker, for many years and also was a farm laborer for Newberg Brothers at Hinton. He had lived in Hinton for the last 28 years. Mr. Ludwig was a Lutheran. He served in the U.S. army during World War II and was a member of Lt. Laurens C. Shull Post 580, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors are two brothers, Martin of Pierson and Paul of Sioux City.
