Mrs. Adam Patton died at her home in Galva at 2 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, from the effects of a complication of diseases brought on by an attack of the flu four weeks previously. For about twenty years, Mrs. Patton had been a sufferer from asthma and bronchitis.
The funeral was held from the home Thursday afternoon, with Rev. Masters of the Methodist church in charge.
Janet Agnes Howie was born July 30, 1865 at New Mill, Dunlap, Ayrshire, Scotland and lived to attain the age of 58 years, 8 months and one day. She came to the United States in 1885, settling at Ottawa, Ill., where she was united in marriage to Adam Patton Feb. 19, 1890. They came at once to Galva, Iowa, where they settled on a farm a mile northwest of town.
