E.D. BULLOCK DIES THURSDAY. Funeral Services Were Held at the M.C. Church in Galva
GALVA: Edwin DeWitt Bullock was born in Sycamore, Ill., on May 21, 1864 and died at the hospital at Iowa City, on March 23, 1939, at the age of 75 years. When a boy he moved with his parents to Kansas, and later spent some time in eastern Iowa.
February 14, 1885 he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Gummon at Ida Grove. To them six children were born, the oldest of which died when a child.
He came to Ida county in 1879 and spent a number of years on a farm.
Following his wife’s death he has lived with his children until his death.
[missing] survived by five children Mrs. Elizabeth Bennett of Greenville, Floyd Bullock of Odebolt, Mrs. A.J. Freyer of Galva, Mrs. Estella Martin of Keota, and Glen Bullock of Kewanee, Ill., two sisters, Mrs. Mary Lyon of Holler, Minn., and Mrs. Alice Dahlgetty of Denver, Colo. Ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He united with Galva Methodist church on October 29, 1928, being received into membership by Rev. L.G. Barner and retained his membership in this church until his translation to the church Triumphant. He attended morning services here the Sunday before going to Iowa City.
Funeral services were held in the M.E. church with Rev. Eggleston officiating. Burial was in the Galva cemetery.
