Patricia Ann Buschmann Wins ’64 Baby Contest

Patricia Ann, a 7 ¼ pound daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buschmann at the Ida Grove hospital Tuesday morning, January 7, 1t 3:40 a.m. The young lady was the first baby to be born at the Ida Grove hospital in 1964 and as a result is the winner of the prizes and gifts offered by Ida Grove merchants in the “First Baby of the Year” contest. The Buschmanns live on a farm southeast of Ida Grove in Blaine Township. They have two other children; both boy, they are Terry, 2, and Alan, 3, both of whom have birthdays in April. Gifts Offered: Meisners free blanket in addition to other gifts given to new child: Brower Furniture, a free gift; Coast to Coast, a special gift; Moore furniture, high chair pad; Penny’s Studio, an 8 x 10 browntone picture; Dreier’s Bakery, a baby cake; Fout’s Skelly grease job and oil change for parents, Bo-Peep Shop, a free gift; Ida County State Bank, a $25 savings bond; Ida Grove Dairy, a sheet of tickets good for 21 quarts of milk, and Penny’s Store, a free gift to the first baby.
