George Loraine Mast
(August 19, 1904 – November 1, 1937)

Obituary
Gilmore City and community was shocked Monday night when the news of Dr. G. L. Mast’s death was reported. His death meant the loss of a prominent citizen and popular dentist and Wednesday afternoon his towns men and friends paid their humble respects at his bier.
George Loraine Mast, only son of Mr. and Mrs. George Mast, was born August 19, 1904 at Primghar, Iowa. He was baptized into the Church of Christ when he was 10 years old. He attended the Primghar High School and graduated from there on May 26, 1922 at the age of 17 years. After nine years he entered Creighton University at Omaha, Neb. from which he graduated in 1927. A few months later he started practicing Dentistry in Gilmore City, where he has continued for ten years.
On June 17, 1928 he was united in marriage to Eva Herr of South English, Iowa. He was taken ill October 23, while attending the homecoming at Creighton University. The following day he was taken to the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge where an operation for appendicitis was performed. Complications set in, and in spite of all that medical science could do for him, he passed from this world Monday evening, November. 1st. He leaves to mourn his early departure, his wife and parents and a host of relatives and friends. He was a loving son and husband and leaves a vacancy that can never be filled. His happy and cheerful disposition endeared him to the hearts of all with whom he came in contact. He was especially popular with the children.
