Merle Taylor
(August 9, 1920 – January 15, 1938)

Merle Taylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Taylor was born August 9, 1920 at Gilmore City and passed away on Jan. 15, 1938 at the home of his parents. He has been in failing health the past two years with a heart complication. Funeral services were held at St. John’s church Monday morning, Jan. 17, 1938 with Rev. Hugh O’Brien officiating. Interment was in St. John’s Cemetery. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Taylor and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mabel Cook, Mrs. Margaret Kline, and Robert Taylor all of Des Moines, Mrs. Helen Hunting of Ida Grove, Mrs. Ruth Olsen of Bradgate, Mrs. Joe Claman of Gilmore City, Mary, Donald, Dorothy and Carl all at home. One grandmother, Mrs. John Taylor of Sterling, Kansas and grandfather, Henry Miller, of Manson, also survive. Paul bearers were Donald and Ivan Kirby, Ivan and Vincent Miller and Leo and James Blanchet all cousins of the deceased. All the brothers and sisters attended the funeral and relatives from Rolfe, Plover, Ida Grove, Bradgate and Manson.
