Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Dec. 18, 1972 in St. Olaf Lutheran Church at Bode for Mrs. Miles Helmen, 54, of Cherokee, a former Bode resident.

Mrs. Helmen died Dec. 14 following an extended illness.

Survivors include the widower, two children: Sandra Dianne and Michael Clave; six grandchildren; three brothers and four sisters.

Barbara Mae Clave was born at Ottosen in 1918 to Louis John and Annie Clave. She was reared and educated in the Ottosen area and was married to Miles Everett Helmen in 1937.

Mrs. Helmen was a member of Ladies Aid, American Legion Auxiliary and sang with the church choir in Bode.

Pastor Palmer Loken officiated at funeral services. Soloist was Mrs. Donald Aure, accompanied by organist Mrs. David Engel. Honorary casket bearers were Jack Kiser, Richard Kinkead, Orren Olson and Marcus Rolland. Active casket bearers were Bob Roberts, Justin Torgerson, Ole M. Kinseth, Harold Doeden and Wilford Rood.

Interment was in Bode Cemetery with Schellhammer Funeral Home of West Bend in charge.
