Funeral services for Levi Sween were held Saturday, Dec. 11, 1971 at 2 p.m. at Bode St. Olaf Lutheran Church, with Rev. Gerhardt Gosnell officiating. Schellhammer Funeral Home of West Bend was in charge, with burial in St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery in Bode.

Levi Sween, son of Ole and Christiana Sween was born Nov. 14,1898 at Bode, where he grew up and graduated from the Bode schools. He farmed all his life in the Bode community, until March 1971, when he retired from farming and moved into Bode. On April 7, 1920. he was united in marriage with Josephine Gunderson at Bode.

Mr. Sween died last Wednesday evening at Bethesda General Hospital at Fort Dodge at the age of 73.

Surviving are his wife, Josephine; one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Moe of Wheeling, Ill., and one son, Kenneth Sween of Colorado Springs, Colo. Also surviving are five granddaughters, two great grandsons; two sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Selma Opheim of Bode, Mrs. Agnes Winther of Battle Lake, Minn., Clifford Sween of Marshalltown, and Victor Sween of Fort Dodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother. He was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church at Bode.

During the service Mrs. Don Aure sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "My Hope is Built on Nothing Less" accompanied by Mrs. David Engle. Casket bearers were: Wayne Olson, Gerald Christianson, Wayne Opheim, Jim R. Sween, Wilford Rood, and Harlan Berge. On the floral committee were Mrs.Donald Kinne, Mrs. Garman Rolland, and Mrs. Arlis Kinseth.
