January 15, 1897 --- June 22, 1970

Sigvart Kvale funeral Wednesday Sigvart M. Kvale, 73, 611 N.W. 4th St. died Monday morning at Bethesda General hospital, Fort Dodge, after a short illness.

He was taken suddenly ill last Friday and taken to the hospital.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 o'clock at the Hauge Lutheran Church in Goldfield in charge of the pastor Rev. A. E. Windahl. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Kvale is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Gudmund Aukland of Eagle Grove, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one brother, Antone of Chicago, Ill., three sisters, Mrs. Gunhild Johnson, Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Signe Satta, Eagle Grove, and Mrs. Einor Hussebo, of Norway.

Obituary

Sigvart Michael Kvale, son of Bjorn and Berntine Salhus Kvale, was born January 15, 1897 in Haugesund, Norway. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith while in Norway and received his education in the schools there.

He came to the United States in 1913 and settled in the Thor area.

On October 10, 1917 in Eagle Grove he was united in marriage to Selma Askvig and to this union one daughter, Alice, was born.

He farmed in this community most of his life after coming to the United States until his retirement a few years ago when they moved to Eagle Grove to make their home. He made a return trip to his homeland in Norway two years ago, for a visit.

He was a member of the Hauge Lutheran church, Goldfield.

On June 22, 1970, at the Bethesda General hospital, Fort Dodge, he entered into eternal rest. He was 73 years, five months and seven days of age at the time of his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife, Selma; one daughter, Alice, Mrs. Gudmund Aukland of Eagle Grove; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren; one brother, Antone of Chicago, Ill.; three sisters: Mrs. Gunhild Johnson of Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. Signe Satta of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Einor Hussebo of Norway.

Funeral services were held on June 24, 1970 at 2 p.m. at the Hauge Lutheran church, Goldfield, with the Rev. A. E. Windahl officiating. Interment was held in the family lot at Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
