Iona H. Kvale, 77, of Thor, Iowa, died Thursday evening, Feb. 3, 2005, at her home in Thor. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at the Ullensvang Lutheran Church in Thor. The Rev. Herbert W. Schiller will officiate. Burial will be at the East Ullensvang Lutheran Cemetery in Thor. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.

Iona H. Kvale, 77, of Thor, died Thursday evening, February 3, 2005, at her home in Thor.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 7, 2005, at the Ullensvang Lutheran Church in Thor with the Rev. Herbert W. Schiller officiating. Burial will be in the East Ullensvang Cemetery in Thor.

Iona H. Lund was born on September 12, 1927, southeast of Thor, the daughter of Helge and Belle (Risdall) Lund. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School. Iona married Harold Kvale on March 9, 1947. Harold and Iona farmed near Eagle Grove for several years. In 1960 the couple established their home south of Thor. Iona was a long-time member of Ullensvang Lutheran Church in Thor where she was active in many church activities. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and flowers. Memorials may be directed to the Ullensvang Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, Harold, of Thor; a daughter, Sonia Kvale, of Fort Dodge; a granddaughter Lexie, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers.

The Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
