Mrs. Julia Behounek, 86, Livermore, died Friday, Sept. 26, at Humboldt Care Center North. A funeral mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Livermore, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Parish rosaries were recited at 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Wilson Funeral Home, Livermore.
Surviving are sons, Paul F., Hayfield, MN, Dr. Jerome, Casper, WY, Virgil K., Minneapolis, MN, Dennis and Don, both of Livermore; a daughter, Mrs. Roger (Jeanne) Uhlenhake, Tempe, AZ; 24 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Zeman, Rolfe, and George Zeman, Rochester, MN; and a sister, Mrs. John (Mabel) Schnetter, Laurens.
Born in Pocahontas, Julia Zeman attended local schools. She worked at home, then married Louis F. Behounek in 1914 at Pocahontas and they made their home in Cedar Rapids, then farmed in the Chelsea and Pocahontas areas. In 1926 they moved to Livermore. Mrs. Behounek was an Avon representative in Livermore for a number of years. Mr. Behounek died in 1968. Mrs. Behounek was a member of Sacred Heart Guild, the Equality Club of Livermore, a charter member and past president of the Livermore Library Board, and a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary of Livermore.
