Funeral services have been held for a former Bode resident, Francis "Buck" Lansing, who died December 25 in the University Hospital, Portland, OR. Entombment was in the Hill Mausoleum, Roseburg Memorial Gardens, Roseburg, OR.

"Buck" Lansing was born November 7, 1923 in Bode. He was the eighth child of Peter and Mary Lansing. Mr. Lansing graduated from Bode High School in 1941 and entered the United States Navy in Farragut, Idaho. He married Yvonne Hadwen July 1943. In March, 1948 they moved to Roseburg, OR where Mr. Lansing worked as an electrician until he purchased his own business, Lansing and Oliver Rental, which he operated for 30 years.

Mr. Lansing is survived by his wife, Yvonne; a son, Brian; daughter, Connie; three sisters: Marjorie Skow of Stewartsville, MN; Beryl Wardell of Oelwein and Maxine Patalano of San Pedro, CA.
