The Rite of Christian Burial for Ivo Lu Stalzer, 79, of Livermore, was celebrated by the Rev. Dan Greving at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 6, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Livermore. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Livermore. The Wilson Funeral Home of Livermore was in charge of arrangements.
Ivo Lu Thilges, the daughter of William and Christina (Etringer) Thilges, was born September 10, 1925, in Riverdale Township, Kossuth County, Iowa. She attended parochial school in St. Joe. On June 29, 1954, she married Earl Stalzer in Algona. They farmed east of Livermore before moving into their new home in Livermore in 1980. Ivo Lu then operated a day care program in her home until 1990. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Guild and the Friends and Neighbors Club.
Ivo Lu Stalzer was pronounced dead at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital following an automobile accident on Wednesday, November 3, 2004. She is survived by her husband, Earl, two sons, Dale Stalzer, and his wife, Deb, and Marlin Stalzer, all of Livermore, two daughters, LuAnn, and her husband, Rodney Christopher, and Kalene, and her husband, Jerry Berte, all of Humboldt, seven grandchildren, one brother, William Thilges, and his wife, Cathleen, of Bode, and two sisters, Alvina Ernst, of Whittemore, and Martha Mosser, of Durant, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Albert, Raphael, Charles, and Martin Thilges, and three sisters, Malinda Hubert, Laurena Thilges, and Hilda Kellner.
