Funeral service for Carl H. Hanselman, 88, was conducted by the Rev. Mark Peterson at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21, in the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Livermore.
Serving as casket bearers were his nephews, Vernon Hanselman, Paul Hanselman, Lester Buenger, Norman Buenger, Richard Risvold and David Risvold. The Wilson Funeral Home of Livermore was in charge of arrangements.
Carl H. Hanselman, son of Gottlieb and Amelia Grimsehl Hanselman, was born August 30, 1914, on what is now a Century farm in rural Humboldt County near Livermore. He was baptized into the Christian faith on September 27, 1914 and confirmed in April of 1928 in the Zion Lutheran Church at LuVerne.
Carl attended Zion Lutheran School and a year at LuVerne High School. He worked at home for a time, then attended a diesel mechanics school in California.
Carl was married to Myrtle Olson in the Zion Lutheran Church at LuVerne on May 21, 1939. They farmed the home farm until retiring when he was 65.
Carl was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Livermore where he served as an elder and a trustee. He was also a member of the Good Samaritan Care Center Advisory Board.
Carl Hanselman died Thursday, June 19 2003, in the Good Samaritan Care Center at Algona.
He is survived by his wife and four daughters; Karen and Larry Anderson, Alexandria, MN; Kathryn and Wayne Luepke, Courtland, MN; Kristine Bristow, Bemidji, MN and Mary Schnakenberg, at home. He has eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a brother, Edwin Hanselman of LuVerne. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Helen Buenger and a grandson, Jon Jason Schnakenberg.
