A former Bode resident, Donald H. Kinne of Humboldt, 82, died July 24 2003, in the Trinity Regional Medical Center at Fort Dodge.
Funeral service for him was conducted by the Rev. Paul Breddin at 2:30 p.m. July 26 in the St. Olaf Lutheran Church at Bode. Burial was in the church cemetery, the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt in charge.
Donald H. Kinne, the son of Henry O.E. and Lydia Hinz Kinne, was born November 29, 1920 at Fairmont, MN. When he was a child, the family moved to the Burnside-Lehigh area in Iowa and Donald graduated from Burnside High School. The family then moved to Deer Creek Township in Webster County where he farmed with his parents.
He was married to Helen Niemeyer on Februuary 15, 1942 and the couple made their home in Webster County. They moved to Bode in 1950 and farmed in the Bode and Gilmore City areas. Donald retired from farming in 1986 and they moved to Humboldt.
Mr. Kinne was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. He enjoyed reading, playing the mouth harp, being outdoors and having coffee with friends.
Donald is survived by his wife Helen, Humboldt, daughters and sons-in-law, Alona and Jim Berte, Bode; Marlys and Ron Trauger, Livermore; Jacque and Ron Anderson, St. Louis, MO. There are eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A sister and two brothers also survive, Carol Trample, Rockwell; Luther Kinne, Casper, WY and Carl Kinne, Spokane, WA.
