Anna De Groote was born the Provnce of Zaamslag Zeeland, Netherland (Holland)June 18th, 1824. Her parents were named Johonnes and Mary Dexhorn De Groote.

She came to America in 1846 and with her family settld in Wisconsin. She was married to Koop Scroeder in Sheboygan Country Wisconsin, February 1st 1849. They came to H. C. in 1866 and one year later they settled on the Fort Dodge road in Beaver township where they spent the remainder of their lives practically, Mrs. Schroeder having gone to live with her daughter Mrs Poldervaart in Webster County something over a year ago. Her husband Koop Schroeder Sr. was born February 6, 1817, and died at the Beaver home June 18th 1903. The subjust of this sketch died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Caroline Poldervaart in Deer Creek Township, Webster County, May 6th 1908.

The funeral was held at the home of her son, Johannes in Beaver township on Saturday, May 9th, 1908, Rev Peter Kurvink of Edgington Minnesota, officiating. Old friends, Mrs. Phillip and Mrs. Loyd of Lake Mills singing the old songs that had been long life music to her ear. In her youth she was a member of the church of the First Born and never had other church relations. She was buried beside her husband in Indin Mound Cemetery south of Humboldt, on the Peninsula Road, where many of the old time settlers of this neighborhood lie.

She leaves living chilrenas follows:
John & William living in Oklahoma, Carrie Poldervaart in Webster CO. Iowa and Johannes and Koop Jr. in Humboldt, County
