Amos Hewitt of Livermore, [1847-1929] eighty years of age and who has been ill for some time, passed away a his Livermore home Monday evening of this week. He was an old settler and a resident of the community for more than forty years.

The funeral was held Thursday at the home and the services were in in charge of the Masonic lodge of Livermore. The remains were laid to rest in the Livermore [Union] Cemetery. [Mr. Hewitt was a Civil War veteran who served in Co. B, 48th Iowa Infantry]
