David McKee, whose decline at the hospital in Independence has been noted by this paper, passed away Monday last, and his remains were shipped home for interment Wednesday. Mr. McKee was one of the early settlers of the county, and was a large hearted, liberal man. For many years he was a resident of Grove township where he always took a large interest in public affairs. He held several offices of trust. Some years ago he moved with his family to Humboldt where he resided until taken to Independence for treatment. He leaves family and numberless friends to mourn his death. [Born Feb. 17, 1847 and died Mar. 3, 1902]
