11-29-1906DEATH:—On Saturday morning, November 24,1906, occured the death of Daniel E. Eversole. Mr. Eversole resides in Sioux Rapids and his health has been falling for the past two years. He and his wife made a visit at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Jim [Harriet] Mullen. Ever
since their arrival here he seemed to fail more rapidly and at 10:30 Saturday morning he passed away. The funeral took place Sunday, November 25th from the daughter's home.He was born in Bedford, Lawrence Co., Indiana, December 2nd, 1840. In 1866 at the age of twenty-one he was united In marriage to Miss Eurietta A. Hinkley of Flora, Illinois. They moved.to Humboldt County in the spring of 1869 and settled on section two in Weaver township, where he lived till after the town of Gilmore City was located when he moved there. They made Gilmore their home until
four years ago when they moved to Sioux Rapids.Mr. Eversole was a good man and had a great respect for charitable work. Ho leaves a loving wife, one brother, Emery Eversole of this place, one sister in Illinois, one daughter, Mrs. J. Mullen of this place, and one son, Harry Eversole of Sioux Rapids, to mourn his departure. Friends extend their heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
Mr. Eversole was first assessor of Weaver township after Its organization, held the office of justice of peace four years, was township clerk three years, and a member of the county board of supervisors three years. He was a soldier of the Civil war enlisting in company G 25th Indiana Infantry and served three years the last two as a first lieutenant. Was In the battle of Fort Donelson, Shiloh, Siege of Corinth and battle of Hatchie River and was mustered out at Memphis, Tenn.at the end of his term of service.
