SERVICES TO BE HELD FOR MRS. PETER SIMONSEN, 88

Mrs. Peter Simonsen*, 88, was pronounced dead on arrival at Bethesda General Hospital Monday morning, March 2, where she was taken by ambulance from the Humboldt Care Center. Services will be held Thursday in Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church with burial in Union Cemetery. The Lindhart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Surviving are three sons: Jens and Ted, Humboldt; and Harry, Rutland; four daughters: Mrs. Edna Johnson and Mrs. Wayne Johnson, Humboldt; Mrs. Orville Hansen, Owatonna, Minnesota; and Mrs. John Palmeter, Clear Lake; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a brother, Chris Sorensen, Humboldt.

Mrs. Simonsen was born in Denmark and was reared and educated there. She came to Humboldt County at the age of 21 and made her home with an aunt. In 1904, she married Peter Simonsen and the couple farmed in Humboldt County. Mr. Simonsen died in 1939 and she moved into town in 1944.

She was a member of the ALCW and the 60 Club of the church.
