FUNERAL SERVICES FOR KJESTINE E. SORENSEN

Funeral services were held in the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Humboldt on June 9 for Kjestine E. Sorensen*, 96, who died June 6. She was born April 26, 1883 in Denmark and came to the Humboldt area when she was 17 years old. She married Myron Sorensen July 4, 1908 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bode. They farmed in the Humboldt area until retiring. Mr. Sorensen died in October 1956, and Mrs. Sorensen continued to live here, making her home at the South Care Center in recent years. She was a member of the ALOW and Sixty Club.

Pastor G.D.A. Engelhardt officiated at the services. Casketbearers were Lyle Sorensen, Eugene Joenks, Gene Sorensen, James Koob, John Sorensen and Ralph Gamwell. Sylvia Gamwell was soloist and Mrs. Paul Maason organist. The selection chosen was “His Eye Is On The Sparrow.” Doris Sampson and Ethel Hellickson were in charge of the arrangement of flowers. Eilert Sampson was usher. Interment was in the Union Cemetery, Humboldt.

Survivors include three daughters Mrs. Freda Cartwright, Humboldt, Mrs. Hans (Inez) Kristensen of Clovis, New Mexico, and Mrs. Sylvia Gamwell of Fern Park, Florida; 22 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
