Have come to a standstill in my genealogical research of my branch of the Stack family and hope someone in Cresco, Iowa or Howard County, Iowa can help me with more information the family of Margaret M. Stack Riley.
Thought Margaret may be a sister or cousin of my maternal gggrandmother, Johanna Stack Ryle, because Margaret was a witness at the 2/10/1877 wedding of Johanna Stack's sister, Mary, to Bartley Ryle, and Bartley Ryle was a witness at Margaret's 7/3/1893 wedding to Cornelius T. Riley.
Know Margaret was born around 1849-1850, and the 1910 census shows her coming to the US in 1866. Margaret died, without issue, on 9/2/1913, and in her will, she named the following heirs in Iowa, their addresses and their relationship to her:
Robert Halpin of Cresco, Iowa and Mary H. Daley of Cresco, Iowa. Both were the children of her deceased sister, of the full blood, Kate Halpin, late of Cresco, Iowa (Robert Halpin and Mary H. Daley also had 2 brothers: John Halpin and James Halpin of Omaha, Nebraska.)
Also Mary J. Halpin was married to John F. Daley, and there was deed of mortgage dated 4/9/1912 which was recorded by the Howard County Recorder on 8/15/1913 in Book 51 on page 99.
None of these names are familiar to anyone in our family and would love to hear from anyone who has any info.!
