Date and Record of Death Needed

I'm needing a date of death or even better, a record of death, for Thomas Lewis DESPARD who died abt 1885 in Howard Co., Iowa. He was married to Elizabeth COCHRAN. An obit would be most appreciated also. Mainly what I'm looking for is something with the names of his parents on it. That's where the death record is needed, hopefully it will have their names. I believe they may be buried in Oak Lawn Cemetery as that is where his son, my great grandfather, Richard DESPARD and his wife Mary MILLINGTON are buried.
As the DESPARD name is very rare, anything about a member of the Despard family in Iowa is connected to my family.
