Friends of Mrs. John Mackenburg were shocked to hear of her death which occurred on Monday, Feb. 3rd, after a brief illness that was caused from influenza. The funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at the home with burial at New Oregon Cemetery.

Oru{sic} community was greatly shocked to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. John Mackenburg, an old neighbor in our burg.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Johanna “Hannah” who was born June 29, 1890 and died Feb. 3, 1919. She is buried in the New Oregon Cemetery.
