While en route to Protivin Sunday morning, John J. Jirak and his son Albert met with quite an accident. Their horses became frightened and as they were at a high rate of speed Mr. Jirak jumped from the buggy, falling on his head, injuring him badly. The latter escaped uninjured. The former was taken to the home of Mr. John J Mikesh and Dr. Smittle of Waucoma and a nurse arrived in a short time. Mr. Jirak passed away Sunday evening at about 8:30. The remains were taken to his home on Monday noon, and Wednesday they were taken to the Holy Trinity church where funeral services were conducted by Rev. Rudolph Lakomy. He was laid at rest in the Holy Trinity cemetery The bereaved ones have our sympathy.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born May 1, 1860 and died March 3, 1918.
