Scott Webb, age 60, of Cresco, IA, died on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the Heritage Events Center, 229 3rd Ave. W. Cresco, Iowa. Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Scott Raymond Webb was born April 13, 1964, son of LeRoy R. and Deanne M. (Palmersheim) Webb in New Hampton, IA. Ever since he was a little boy, Scott had a passion for the outdoors. Riding his pony, Prince, up and down the hills of Dorchester, fur trapping beginning at the age of 10 (he even caught a beaver with his bare hands once), and learning how to shoot. After high school, Scott enrolled into the Forestry program at Iowa State University and enlisted with the Marine Corps Reserves. His first job after college was planting and cutting down trees throughout several states. He helped to fight wildfires and was on a marking crew with the Forest Service in California. While living in California he attended a Pony Express re-ride party, and was asked for the time by a gal named Terri Feneis. The two shared a couple dances and have been inseparable ever since. Scott and Terri were married in August of 1990 with their wedding reception held at Fertile Valley Farm. In 1991, they bought the 80-acre farm they currently live on. For 18 years they milked goats in Cresco and Scott continued to work with a logging company out west. He eventually bought two portable saw mills and began his own wood milling company. Throughout the years the size of Scott’s chainsaws continued to get bigger and bigger. He was very generous when tree cutting for others and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Scott loved to share his knowledge about the activities he was passionate about with others. He took a lot of joy from teaching children, teenagers, and adults about shooting sports. He was proud to be a coach to the members of the Cresco Area Clay Crushers team. He enjoyed time spent with friends at the Cresco Wildlife Club and being a District Director for the four-county area of the Iowa Trappers Association. Scott was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life, canoeing and trapping along the river, riding his mule, Pearl, and a good conversation with friends and family.

Scott is survived by his wife Terri Webb, father LeRoy Webb both of Cresco, siblings Wanda (Dave) Boldon in WI, Kurtis (Melissa) Webb in IA, Andrew (Cris Hamilton) Webb in CA, and Julie (Dustin) Alcorn-Webb in MN, nieces and nephews Kjersti, Kari, Kelsi, Isaak, Madeline, Callista, Henry, and Eleanor; mother-in-law Julie Feneis in CA, brother-in-law Todd (Emily) Feneis in CA, nephews and niece Cody, Brett, and Cori.

He was preceded in death by his mother Deanne Webb and father-in-law Theodore Feneis.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations in memory of Scott are preferred to the Cresco Area Clay Crushers.
