Martin Volkman, who has been in poor health the past year, passed away at his home in Albion Dec. 25th. The stricken family have the sincere sympathy of the entire community.

OBITUARY.
Volkman.
Martin Hermann Volkman, son of Jacob Volkmann and Sophia Braeger Volkmann was born in Troptov, Germany, November 21, 1840, and died December 25, 1917, aged 77 years, 1 month and 4 days. He was united in marriage with Charlotte Volkmann, December 15, 1865. To this union were born eight children—Mrs. Ernest Bigalk, Otto Volkmann, Mrs. Ida Reuter, Willie Volkmann and Mrs. Anna Volkmann; three children being dead. Deceased came to America in 1868 and settled in Oshkosh, Wis., where he lived ten years. In 1878 he moved to Iowa and settled in Winneshiek county where he since resided and where he passed away Christmas day.
