Harry Baldwin and Winfield Carter Jr. went to the sand pit to play on last Thursday evening and were digging under the embankment when it caved off and covered the little Carter boy with about three feet of sand. The former ran for help, but when the help and the doctor arrived they found the little body lifeless. This was a very sad occur{r}ence and the many friends of the stricken parents extend to them their heartfelt sympathy.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born June 2, 1907 and died Oct. 1919; however, it also shows a copy of the above account of his death in 1917. His gravestone also shows he died in 1919. He is buried in Chester Hill Cemetery.
