Clarence Stevens, son of Mrs. Mary Stevens of this city, passed away on Wednesday morning after a long illness. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2:30 at the Congregational church, Rev. Bockoven officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in Oak Lawn cemetery.

OBITUARY

Clarence Stevens was born May 17, 1886, and passed away September 19, 1917, at 4 o’clock a. m., at the age of 31 years, 4 months and 2 days. He was born in Cresco and has lived in this county all his life; living on a farm northwest of town until about 12 years ago, when he moved to Cresco with his mother. Deceased has been a sufferer from epilepsy for some time and was always hopeful of being cured, but all that loving care and medical science could do was of no avail.

He leaves to mourn his departure his mother; one brother, Harry; one sister, Mrs. Benj. Jones; four half brothers on his mother’s side and four half brothers and one half sister on his father’s side.

We desire to express our sincere thanks to those who aided us during the late illness of our son and brother, also for the beautiful flowers, and especially are our thanks due to the Woodmen of the World for services rendered.
