OBITUARY

WHEELER
Susan Cory was born in Rock Co., Ill., October 30, 1848, and died at her home in Cresco, Iowa, on Monday, Sept. 17, 1917, at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 17 days.
She came to Howard Co. in 1874 and on June 8th of that year she was united in marriage to Ira Wheeler, of New Oregon, Iowa. To this unions even children were born—Mrs. O. D. Wheeler, who died in 1903; three children dying in infancy, Harry, Clifford and Will, who reside in Cresco.
In 1880 she moved to Minnesota, residing there until 1895, when she returned to Cresco, where she resided until her death. While living in Minnesota she became a charter member of the W. R. C. of Northfield. She was a member of the W. R. C. of Cresco at the time of her death and this order had charge of the funeral.
A kind mother, a true friend and a loving wife has past{sic} to her reward, leaving to mourn her loss husband, children and friends.
The funeral services were held at the late home on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Kirwin preaching the sermon, and the remains were taken to Northfield, Minn., for burial.
The sorrowing relatives and friends have the sympathy of all.
