OBITUARY
Kimball.
Died—In Palo Alto, Calif., on August 16, 1917, Ruth Laird Kimball, second daughter of the late Aaron and Emma W. Laird Kimball. She was a graduate of Leland Stanford Jr. University in the class of 1904, a member of Phi Beta Kappa and of Delta Gamma. She was for eight years head of the English department of the San Jose high school, and for two years Dean of Girls in the same school. She became in Sept. 1916, vice principal of the Castilleja School for Girls in Palo Alto. She is survived by her mother, her sisters Alice W. Kimball of Palo Alto and Mrs. Louis Kimball Mathews of the University of Wisconsin and a step-sister, Mrs. H. S. Campbell of Absarokee, Mont.
