John Finck, another old settler, passed to the Great Beyond on Friday morning. Funeral on Tuesday, the 8th. Obituary later.

OBITUARY.
John Finck was born in Heidenheim, Wuerttenburg, Germany, January 16th, 1832. He came to Canada when young and was married to Margaret Miller Jan. 23rd, 1856 at Mitchell, Canada, and came to Granger in 1864. To this union were born seven children. Margaret passed to the Beyond on March 4th, 1867. He married Hannah Shunmeyer of Stratford, Ontario, Canada, and to this union were born five children. He was a citizen of Granger 53 years and died on May 4, 1917, at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 12 days. The funeral was held on Tuesday at the M. E. Church conducted by Rev. Grabau, and he was laid to rest to Oak Hill cemetery by the side of Margaret by the Odd Fellows of Preston as he was a member of that Lodge. The children who attended the funeral were Jacob, of Huron, Andrew of Worthington, Fred of St. Paul, and Bert who lives here, and those who could not be present were James of Texas, Jonathan of Superior, Martha of Washington, Lucy of California and Edwin of Canada.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows the name spelled Finckh. It also shows his second wife’s maiden name was spelled Schonmyer. He is buried in Prairie Queen Cemetery in Bristol, MN.
