LOVEJOY
Emogene Salisbury, daughter of Jonathan and Margaret Salisbury, was born at Orville, New York, June 29, 1851, and departed this life on April 27, 1917, aged 66 years, 9 months and 27 days. She was united in marriage to Owen D. Lovejoy, Dec. 30, 1869. To this union was born six children, four daughters and two sons. Two daughters dying in infancy, one daughter dying at the age of fifteen. She is survived by three children, Mrs. Belle Wilson, Henry F. and Carl E. Lovejoy, all of Cresco, Iowa. Her husband preceded her to the Better Land six years ago the second of this month. She is also survived by one brother, H. C. Salisbury, and one sister, Mrs. Adeline Long, of Dyersville, Iowa, and by six grandchildren one grandson preceding her but a few months ago. Mrs. Lovejoy was converted and united with the Methodist Church at the age of seventeen and continued a faithful member to the last. She suffered much but was sustained by the thought of the rest that the Savior gives to all who believe in Him.
The funeral was held at the late home of 2 p. m., Sunday, April 29th, in charge of Rev. Will Kirwin, her pastor, assisted by Rev. J. A. Pettit, of the Baptist Church, and interment was made at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
