Adam Joseph Ortner passed away on May 1, 2024, at the age of 40. He was born May 23, 1983 to Stephen and Monica (Kleitsch) Ortner. He graduated Fillmore Central High School in 2001, then NICC, Calmar with an Associate of Applied Science Mechanic Degree in 2007.

Adam was a skilled mechanic and liked to create with items at hand. He enjoyed assisting his brothers with carpentry work around their homes and doing other odds and ends jobs. He enjoyed the quietness of the country farm and the cabin up north. He was quick to tease his siblings like a big brother would do. But he also had a kind heart and was fun loving. He was fond of his nieces and nephews as well.

Adam is survived by his parents, siblings: Jason, Carrie (Tom) and Tim (Becca); brother in-law Rick; grandmother Marcie Ortner and his nieces and nephews. Additional survivors include several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister Jenifer, grandparents Edward and Leona Kleitsch and Eugene Ortner.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco, IA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services beginning at 9:00am. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
