Arliss K. Fox, age 78, of Cresco, IA, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022, at her home in Cresco, surrounded by family.

Services for Arliss will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco with Pastor John Elkin officiating. A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. for one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer, IA on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 11 a.m.

Arliss Kaye Fox, the daughter of Howard and Florence (Hoovel) Elkin, was born on July 16, 1944 in Estherville, Iowa. She was called home on December 23, 2022 at the age of 78 from a long and courageous fight against Pancreatic Cancer.

Arliss graduated from Milford High School. She went to work for Farmers Bank & Trust in Spencer, IA. From there, she worked in the Clay Country Treasurer’s office.

Arliss married the love of her life, Richard Fox on February 5, 1988 (one of the coldest days of the year). She moved to Estherville, IA and became an insurance agent at Blum & Leonard Insurance. Richard and Arliss moved from Estherville to Nora Springs, IA where she worked for Principal Financial Services. They then moved to Emmetsburg where she was the Office Manager for E-Pride Office Supplies. Arliss retired in 2003 and moved to Cresco, IA for Rich’s job as a Nursing Home Administrator. In 2013 Richard retired and they started “wintering” in Florence, AZ where they had a community of friends and loved ones.

Arliss was blessed with two children Tammy and Todd and three step-children, Terry, Teresa and Rick.

Arliss and Richard enjoyed golfing and going for car rides in their Thunderbird convertible. They belonged to a car club and enjoyed the many friends they met on their weekend rides. Arliss belonged to the Red Hats, Bunko Club, member of the Cresco Arts Council, Delivered Meals on Wheels, RSVP where she painted nails for Nursing home and Assisted living residents. Arliss enjoyed laughing and having fun with friends and family.

Arliss was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Florence (Hoovel) Elkin, her sisters Eunice Elkin and LaVon Holtrop, brother Ronnie Elkin and stepson Terry Dailey and granddaughter Tara Dailey and a great-granddaughter Olympia Fox, as well as her beloved dogs, Patches and Bo.

Arliss is survived by her husband Richard, her daughter Tammy Haggart (Mike Jensen) of Omaha, NE, son Todd Brigham (Patty) of Spencer, IA, her brother John Elkin (Connie) of Fort Dodge, IA, 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
