Marshalltown - Clark Jay Wedderspoon passed away on Aug. 8, 2022, after a long, courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cresco VFW on Clark’s birthday, Sept. 20 from 4-6 p.m.
He was born in Cresco, Iowa, on Sept. 20, 1963, one of nine children of Carl and Genevieve (Downs) Wedderspoon.
After graduating from Crestwood High School, he proudly served in the United States Army from 1982-1984. Clark enjoyed fishing, playing cards and watching car races and football. He had a giving spirit, beautiful soul and loved to laugh.
His family is forever grateful to the staff at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown for their loving care.
Clark is survived by his brothers, Curtis of Waukon, Iowa, Sid (Vickie) of Willard, Ohio, Steve of Boone, Iowa and Craig (Karen) of Waukon; sisters, Diana Daginik of Stone Mountain, Ga., Donna (Doug) Bruening of Cresco, Candy (Randy) Smith of Nora Springs, Iowa and Cindy (Bob) Fullerton of Ankeny, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Genevieve.
Per his wishes, his body has been donated to the Carver School of Medicine, University of Iowa, for neurologic research.
