Edith M. Lepa, 90, of Cresco, IA, died on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at her home in Cresco.

Edith Mae Dotzler was born October 24, 1931 to Edward and Mae (Schafer) Dotzler. She worked at Evans Memorial Home for 40 years as a CNA. Edith was a very hard worker. She was always there to lend a helping hand and was willing to give you the shirt off her back. Her legacy brought forth 6 kids, 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, all of which she was extremely proud of. Spending time with her family brought her so much joy. Her granddaughter Danielle would take Edith out on shopping trips and to the Whippy Dip for delicious ice cream treats. Edith enjoyed crossword puzzles, canning, and loved a good cup of coffee and a chat. She was a kind woman with a gentle soul who will be greatly missed.

Edith is survived by her 4 children Jeanette Wiginton of Little Elm, TX, Randy Lepa of Cresco, Daryl (Kathy) Lepa of Riceville, IA, and Dale (Lori) Lepa of Cresco, son-in-law Steve Dawley of Ridgeway, IA, brother Gene Dotzler of Cresco, 14 grandchildren Shannon, Shawn, Nathan, Aaron, Carri, Danielle, Dakotah, Ashlee, Courtney, Sydney, Samantha, Gracie, Lacey, and Bud, 25 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Mae Dotzler, daughters Deb Ryan and Julie Dawley, 10 brothers, 5 sisters, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Cresco, IA. A short memorial service will be held at the end of the visitation. Burial will take place in Howard Center Cemetery at a later date.
