Naomi Ruth (Johnston) Lee, age 98, went to meet her Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2022.

Ruth was the youngest of four children born on May 1, 1923 to Earl and Edna Johnston in Kirkville, Iowa. She attended Kirkville schools and graduated in the spring of 1941. She met Bert at her church youth group. They enjoyed going to roller skating parties. She was married to A.B. “Bert” Lee on September 16, 1941. They had three children: Robert, Russell and Patricia.

Ruth acted as the activity director at the Riceville Nursing Home.

Ruth was very active in the Saratoga Community Church. She especially enjoyed having bible study after moving to Riceville. She was always willing to lend a hand, and did lots of wallpapering and upholstery for people in the community. She loved to sew and cross stitch, making many beautiful quilts and gifts for family and friends. Ruth loved being involved in the Red Hats, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

For many years they enjoyed the warm winter months in Florida. She loved collecting shells along the beach. While in Florida she was a wonderful caregiver to several elderly.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bert, son Russell, her parents and siblings.

She will be dearly missed by her children; Robert of Rochester, MN and Patty (Dick) Hughes of Richfield, MN, daughter in-law, Carol of Honolulu, Hawaii, six grandchildren: (who affectionately referred to her as “Bun”) Robb, Amy, Rick (Diane), Carrie, Leah (Nick), Lindsay (Ryan) and fourteen great-grandchildren: Madison, Sam, Emma, Annie, Rylee, Paislee, Winston, Rece, Olivia, Owen, Eliott, Henry, Charlie and Lucy.
