Julie enjoyed a good obituary. Since she died suddenly in a tragic car accident, March 4, 2022, she did not get to write her own as planned, so this is what she gets. Julie Jo Weigert was born on November 11, 1961 the daughter of Darrell and Judith (Robinson) Weigert in Eldora, Iowa. She was the second born of 3 children. She graduated from Crestwood High School in 1980. Shortly after she attended Northeast Iowa Technical Institute where she received her Associate’s degree in Nursing. She spent her career caring for others. She worked at a few nursing homes, the Cresco Hospital, and ended her nursing career working at Mayo Clinic for the last 25 years.

Julie married Jr Bolson, and later divorced. To this union two children were born, Bethany and Janel. Then she married Bob Pavlovec, and later divorced but remained good friends.

Julie was known for her witty sense of humor and feisty personality. She was opinionated, not afraid to speak her mind, and always had a story to tell. She was a good friend, mom, daughter and sister and could always be counted on. Julie was a lover of good food, dogs, plants, sunny days riding her Harley and day drinking with friends. She loved driving her black Eldorado, and listening to Merle Haggard. During her free time she enjoyed driving through cemeteries, antiquing, shopping for treasures at Goodwill, and canning food from her garden. Julie was known for her great love of animals, her dogs were her children, and she had many pets over the years including chickens, horses, cows and goats. She loved visiting her grandkids and making memories baking with them. Julie was known for her good cooking, and always wanting to feed everyone.

She was truly one of a kind and will be missed by many who loved her.

Julie is preceded into death by her mother, Judith Weigert, nephew Gregory Mlady, and Aunt Niki Prochaska. Julie is survived by her daughters, Bethany (Dylan) Schrage of Vinton, Iowa, Janel (Kyle) Ollendieck of Cresco, Iowa; her grandchildren, Nolan, Beckett and Brooks Schrage, and Shade and Lucy Ollendieck; her father Darrell Weigert, step-mother Sue Weigert, a brother Gene (Mary) Weigert, a sister Joni Mlady (Al Zweibohmer), nephews Christopher Weigert, Nick Weigert, Fletcher Weigert; and a niece Sami Weigert.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 13th, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the Lime Springs Community Center. Memorials may be directed to Lindstrom Funeral Home. There will be a private burial.
