Charlotte Ann Guy was born on October 4, 1950, in St. Paul, MN, daughter of Edward and Susie (Pego) Guy. She graduated from St. Paul Central High School. After graduation she attended the University of Minnesota for 2 years. On November 3, 1973, Charlotte married Kenneth Whitman at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in St. Paul. Charlotte liked traveling and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Christmas was her favorite holiday; she always went all out decorating the house inside and out. She enjoyed shopping, especially when a good deal could be found in the clearance sections, and going out to a Chinese restaurant with the girls. Charlotte was a city girl at heart. After retiring in 2016, Charlotte decided to leave the city life behind, and move closer to her 5 grandchildren. Her grandchildren lovingly called her “Grandma Skittles” because there were always Skittles, a sandwich, and game shows waiting for their arrival. Charlotte absolutely loved being closer to her grandchildren and attending all their events. Charlotte will be remembered for her kindness and generosity.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth Whitman of Cresco, IA; daughter Lisa (Jon) Kammerer of Cresco, IA; son Brian Whitman of St. Paul, MN; 5 grandchildren Caleb, Joe, Andrew, Marcus, and Naomi Kammerer; brother Edward J. (Rita) Guy of East Bethel, MN; nephews Eddy (Heather) Guy of Columbia Heights, MN and James (Kelsey) Guy of Oak Grove, MN; nieces Linda (Tim) Guetschow of Mankato, MN, Kate (Steve) Rossi of Perth, Western Australia, and Bernadette (Christopher) DeLise of Budapest, Hungary, and many great nieces and nephews.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and sister Janet McIntyre.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are preferred to Regional Health Services of Howard County Auxiliary.
