Loretta Kitchens, age 71, of Cresco, IA, died on February 6, 2022, at Regional Health Services of Howard County, in Cresco, IA.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Cresco from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Loretta Kitchens was born on December 31, 1950, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to Henry and Mamie Elizabeth (Basham) Skaggs. Loretta spent her younger years in Kentucky before moving up to Iowa in 1986. She loved watching TV. Some of her favorite genres included Sci-Fi and crime shows. Loretta also had a special place in her heart for all dogs. She loved her family.

Loretta is survived by her children Roger (Jessica) McKeown of Cresco, IA, Elizabeth Rowe of Bowling Green, KY, Penny Wells of Bowling Green, KY, Billy Kitchens of Bowling Green, KY, Clayton Kitchens of Bowling Green, KY, and Jason Kitchens of Bowling Green, KY; 31 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters Carolyn Shirley of Glasgow, KY, and Janie Bumpus of Butler County, KY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 5 sisters, sons Joseph Michael McKeown, and BC Dwight McKeown.
