Kick by Horse Causes Death.
Clarence Ludwig, aged 30, son of Geo. Ludwig, residing just east of Granger, was kicked by a colt on Tuesday afternoon resulting in injuries which caused peritonitis from which death resulted at about 8:30 Wednesday morning. The deceased was watering a team of which the colt was one, preparatory to going to the field, and stepped behind them to go to the well house for a drink when the colt kicked him in the abdomen. But little attention was paid to the matter at the time and the young man intended to continue work but was later attacked with severe pain. Dr. Tierney was called and could not determine the full extent of the injuries and was later recalled, and in the morning Dr. Kessell was called in consultation, but all to no avail.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at the Florenceville Church.

OBITUARY.
Clarence E. Ludwig was born at Granger, Minn., on the 26th day of October, 1885, and passed to the Great Beyond on May 10, 1916, at the age of thirty years, six months and fifteen days. He leaves to mourn, a father and mother, one brother, four sisters, a grandfather and a grandmother, besides many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Clarence was a very nice young man and everyone in the community were his friends as he was loved by all, and he always had a kind word for all. The friends and neighbors are in sympathy with the bereaved family, as was shown by the funeral on Sunday afternoon. Despite the bad weather and very bad roads, the M. E. church was not large enough to seat all of the people. Services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Williamson. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.
