Paul Daughenbaugh received a telegram on Tuesday announcing the death of his grandmother, Mrs. Al. Daughenbaugh, at her home near Willard, Wis., and he and his aunt, Mrs. John Bloomingdale, of Spillville, left on Wednesday morning to attend the funeral which will be held at Lena, Ill., the home of the family for many years.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a grave shows this was Mary Ellen who was born Dec. 13, 1848 (which does not agree with the date listed below) and died March 27, 1916. She is buried in the Lena Burial Park Cemetery.

DAUGHENBAUGH.
Mary E. Merrick, only daughter of John J. and Mrs. Elizabeth Merrick, was born at Lena, Stephenson county, Ill., Dec. 30, 1848, and died after a short illness at her home in Willard, Clark county, Wis., March 27, 1916,
She was left motherless at the age of 4 years. On July 27, 1866, she was married to Samuel A. Daughenbaugh of Lancaster twp., Stephenson county, Ill. To this union were born eight children who survive her, namely: Harry, of Malta, Montana; John I. of Crookston, Minn.; Henry H., of Willard, Wis.; Mrs. Anna K. Leckington, of Storm Lake, Iowa; Samuel A., at home; Walter A., of Freeport, III.; Mrs. Bernice Bloomingdale of Spillville, Iowa, and Mrs. Susan E. Crotzer, of Willard, Wis., and 19 grand children, 2 great grand children besides a host of acquaintances and friends.
Years ago the family moved to Cresco, Iowa, where she resided until the spring of 1909 when she moved to Willard, Wis.
The remains were taken to Lena, Ill., where interment took place Friday forenoon, March 31st, in the family lot.
