Juanita Ruth (Fye) Grimm lifelong resident of Cresco, Iowa died on March 17, 2021.
Juanita was born on May 01, 1929, to Blanche (Jeffers) Fye and Walter Fye. She graduated from Cresco High School in 1946. After graduation, she married Sylvester “Nick” Grimm on September 18, 1946. To this union were born five children: Ron (wife Rita) Cedar Falls, IA, Tom (wife Marcia) Prairie City, IA, Mike (deceased), Randy (wife Cathy) Plover, WI, and Lori Bakken, Colorado Springs, CO.
She and husband, Nick, owned and operated Grimm’s Superette and later, Grimm’s Market in Cresco for 25 years. Afterward, she assisted at the County Veteran’s Affairs office when needed.
Mom loved music, dances, family meals and celebrations of all kinds. She cherished her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Juanita enjoyed playing the card game 500 and was an avid coin and stamp collector. She will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor.
Juanita has two siblings: sister Barbara Cleghorn (Gene), Waseca, MN and brother Bernard Cleveland (deceased). She has 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Juanita’s casket bearers include: grandchildren Jeff Grimm, Karl Grimm, Brandon Grimm, Angela (Packard) Grimm, Jennifer (Everett) Grimm, Nate Grimm, Elysia (Maras) Grimm, Melissa Bakken, Maegan (Pond) Bakken and Jason Grimm.
Juanita will be dearly missed. Something to remember her by is: People die but memories and the love we have for them never dies.
Mass of Christian Burial for Juanita will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Cresco, IA, with Father Jacob Rouse officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 23, at the church from 9:00 to 11:00 am prior to the funeral. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery following the luncheon at McCallister Catering. Due to COVID-19, masks are required and please follow social distancing rules at the church.
