Mrs. Will Farrell, aged 79 years, passed away at her home in Vernon Springs, Tuesday morning. The funeral will be held from the Church of the Assumption on Thursday morning. Obituary later.

FARRELL.
Mrs. John{?} Farrell was born Dec. 28, 1839, and died Dec. 14, 1915, aged 79 years. She has been sick for nearly two years and bore her suffering with great patience. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, a good neighbor and always ready to help those in need and was loved by all who knew her. She was a devoted Christian of of{sic} the Holy Catholic Church,
She was born in the state of Georgia in the year 1839, where she lived with, her parents till about the age of 18, when she came to this country with relatives in 1857, where she has since lived, with the exception of about five while in South Dakota, when they returned to Iowa. Two years ago they purchased a home near Vernon Springs, where she passed away Tuesday morning. In the year 1859 she was united in marriage to William Farrell and have lived happy together all these years and through all the hardships of this world.
To this union was born nine children, four boys and five girls, all of whom are living except one, James, who died about three months ago. Those who live away are, Mrs. Ella Eaton, of Effingham, Ill., Mrs. Maggie Potts, of Kankakee, Ill., Mrs. Kate Norton, of Decorah, Iowa, Dan, Will, Anna and Emma, of Cresco, and one sister, Mrs. Maggie McGee, who lives north of Cresco.
The funeral was held Thursday morning from the Church of the Assumption at 9:30, conducted by Father T. Murtagh, interment in St. Joseph’s cemetery. May her soul rest in peace.Transcriber’s Note: Calvary Cresco Cemetery shows her name as Johanna.
