Lueschow, Shirley Viola (Bauman) 1936 - 2021

Shirley Viola Lueschow, age 84, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, Iowa.

Private family services will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco with burial at Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Shirley was the oldest of five children born to Arnold and Viola Bauman. She attended school in the Edgar, Wisconsin area. On April 30, 1955 Shirley was united in marriage to Kenneth A Lueschow at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Edgar. To this union five children were born.

For many years they milked cows on their dairy farm in Wisconsin. In 1965 they moved to Cresco where they owned and operated the Cresco Egg Market and soon after started Lueschow Trucking. Shirley drove truck and also worked for Stapelkamp Oil. In her later years she worked at Northern Engraving in Spring Grove, Minnesota, until her retirement.

During retirement Shirley found time for many hobbies and loved to craft. She had an amazing green thumb and enjoyed flowers. But most of all she cherished her time with her family, including her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children; Kenneth W. JR (Wendy) of Cresco, Kay S. (Dale) Praska of Gillette, WY, Kelvin H. (Jodi) of Cresco, Karla J. (Steven) Baumler of Waucoma, IA, daughter in-law, Roxanne Lueschow of Decorah, 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a brother, Merlin (Sharon) Bauman of Mesa, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Viola and Arnold Bauman, father and mother in-law, Arthur & Emmy Lueschow, her husband, Kenneth A. Lueschow SR, a son, Kent G. Lueschow, siblings; Gerald Bauman, Ardel Bauman, and Lois Thompson, brothers and sisters in-law; Caroline (Herbert) Passehl, and James (Dorothy) Lueschow, nephews Dennis Lueschow and Stephen Thompson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to the Evans Memorial Home or Howard County Hospice in memory of Shirley.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Shirley will be held at a later date when everyone can gather safely.
