Found Dead in Jail at E!ma.
Saturday morning, Oct. 9th, an unknown man was found dead in the jail at Elma, Iowa. On Thursday night the man was found asleep in a road north of Elma and was brought to town and given a good meal and then he disappeared. Saturday morning, Marshal Gansen went into the jail, which is always left unlocked when unoccupied, and found the old man in a kneeling position and dead. It is thought that he died of heart trouble. The man was about 60 years of age and no indentification{sic} marks could be found on his person or clothing. The body was sent to Still College at Des Moines to await identification, or to be used in the medical research laboratory.-New Hampton Tribune.
