Death of Old Time Cresco Printer.
The Western Newspaper Union of recent date chronicles the death on July 19th of Wm. R. Mumby in a hospital at Williston, N. D., as the result of injuries incurred in an automobile accident a few days previous. He was born in 1842 in Fon du Lac, Wisconsin, and was married in Cresco to a sister of Mrs. Ed Thomas, his wife died a few years ago and was brought to Cresco for burial. For several years he was employed on both the Plain Dealer and Times as job printer, leaving Cresco for St. Paul where for a long time he was a proofreader on the Pioneer Press. He later worked on other papers and established several in Montana and the Dakotas and at the time of his death was associated with his son Clifford in conducting the Fairview Tribune.
