LEWIS
Margaret Renwick was born in New York state on August 22nd, 1834. She was married to Thomas E. Lewis on April 28th, 1853.
Soon after their marriage they moved from New York state to the state of Wisconsin where they remained but a short time, coming to Cresco, Howard county, Ia., about the year 1855.
To the union was born three sons, John Lewis of Cresco, Iowa, William William{sic} Lewis who died in early man-hood and James Lewis of Cresco. There was also born two girls, Jannett, who passed away in youth and Mrs. Margaret Mitchell of Cresco, who has been the main stay of her mother during the past three years and who has ministered to her every need since the death of the husband, March 31, 1913.
Mrs. Lewis is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Myer of Le Roy, Minn., and a number of grandchildren.
Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Congregational church for many years and when her health permitted she was always found in her place in the church.
Her death came to her quietly on Tuesday afternoon, May 11th, and the funeral services were conducted from the Congregational church, her pastor, Dr. D. T. Robertson, officiating; interment being made in Oak Lawn cemetery.
