Dorothy Frieberg, age 80, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Whispering Willos Assisted Living in Fredericksburg, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at the United Lutheran Church in Chester, Iowa on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 11:00 am with burial at the Saratoga Cemetery. Pastor Dan Christensen will be officiating.

Dorothy Elaine (Dottie) Frieberg was born April 15, 1940 at home in rural Chester, Iowa to Clayton P. and Violet E. Frieberg. Dottie attended country school up until 8th grade and then graduated from Riceville High School in 1958. Her journey on this earth ended on December 12, 2020.

She joined the United States Air Force and did her basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. She began her basic medical courses at March Air Force Base in Riverside, CA. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force she continued to reside in California where she worked as an Ex-Ray Technician.

She returned to Iowa in 1991, residing with her mother on the family farm. Dottie enjoyed being active in the United Lutheran Church in Chester, IA.

Dottie developed a passion for hatching and raising exotic poultry. She met and gained many friends at swap meets, farmers markets and within the Amish community.

Dottie is survived by her sisters Hazel Harden of Rochester, MN and Julie (Michael) Swett of State Center, IA; sister-in-law Ruth Frieberg of Hayfield, MN; Nephews: Mark (Dawn) Frieberg of Hayfield, MN, Brad Frieberg of Sparta, WI, Warren Harden of Riceville, IA, Jeffrey Harden (Barbra Hoglan) of Lime Springs, IA and Monte Harden of Lime Springs, IA; a niece Laura (Troy) Frey of St. Charles, MN, great nephews: Zachariah, Christian, Benjamin, Tyler, Trevor, Lucas, Logan, Walker and Dillion; great nieces: Amy, Josie, Katie and Kelly.

Preceding her in death are her parents, a brother Harold and sister Charlene.
